vCSG-3 badgeVirtual Carrier Strike Group THREE is a group of like-minded individuals who enjoy the thrills and challenges of virtual combat aviation through the use of Digital Combat Simulator. We come from all walks of life ranging from military duty to real life pilots with a common purpose of becoming the most lethal virtual aviators possible.

Members of vCSG-3 bring with them decades of leadership experience through both military and civilian avenues combined with numerous years of flight simulator experience. We pride ourselves on our relaxed yet competitive culture and hope that if you have any questions you feel free to ask.

vCSG-3 is a multi-platform group which bases its organizational structure on that of an actual carrier strike group. CSG-3 strives to create a diverse and challenging training environment which, in turn, results in a high degree of proficiency in a simulated mission environment. The pilots of CSG-3 are capable of destroying their enemies anywhere within the virtual battle space.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

COMMANDING OFFICER – COMMANDER/LT. COLONEL
The Squadron Commander is directly responsible for the operational readiness and tactical performance of the Squadron. He is responsible for the coordination and supervision of all activities of the embarked squadrons and detachments, and for the material readiness, communications, and intelligence functions of the Squadron for the Strike Group

EXECUTIVE OFFICER – COMMANDER/LT. COLONEL
The XO is typically responsible managing day-to-day activities, such as maintenance and logistics. They support the Commanding Officer freeing them to concentrate on tactical planning and execution. The XO also takes charge in the absence of the Commanding Officer.

OPERATIONS OFFICER – LT COMMANDER/MAJOR
Responsible for supervising the training, operations, and readiness of all air wing squadrons. The Operations Officer standardizes operational procedures between squadrons, coordinates and develops operational contingency plans, and supervises the execution of those plans. Also works with Training Officer in qualifying new instructor pilots.

TRAINING OFFICER – LT COMMANDER/MAJOR
Responsible for creating and executing training material. Working closely with progression of all members of their squadron to ensure training is at the standard. Identifies lapse of standard in crews and provides remedial training and advisement to command.
